Rodney Kenneth Siau MSN, CNS, APRN-BC, FNP-BC
Mr. Rodney Siau earned his Associate Degree in Science Nursing in 1990 from Darton College, Albany, Georgia. In 1993, he obtained a Bachelor Degree in Science Nursing from Georgia Southwestern College, Americus. In June of 1998, he earned his Master of Science Nursing degree from Albany State University Clinical Nurse Specialist Adult Community Health. In December of the same year, he received a Master of Science degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from Albany State University with distinction of honors.
Mr. Siau acquired several years of nursing experience from 1988 to 1998 by working in various departments, such as the Hematology/Oncology unit and the Surgical ICU which he received his board certification as Critical Care Registered Nurse at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany.
He joined affiliated local Urology practice since 1998 with his wealth of experience as a Registered Nurse, certified in basic life support and advanced cardiopulmonary life support. He is also a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Community Health with a broad knowledge of electronic medical records and patient care systems. His transition into the practice of urology has been without a hitch.
Having trained and worked with board certified urologists, Mr. Siau has been exposed to and is interested in Medical Intervention aspects of urology. He has acquired skills in the management of patients, adult and pediatric, with acute /chronic urological conditions. Some of the training and skills included exposure to all aspects of urological procedures and tests done in an office/clinic setting. In addition, he had experience, which was instrumental with maintaining infection control, participating/planning QA/QI projects, and managing a head nurse position for a Urological Ambulatory Surgical Center.
Mr. Siau continues to acquire post graduate education by maintaining active membership with the Society of Urological Nurses Association (SUNA), the Flint River Nurse Practitioner Association of Albany, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner and also by habitually reviewing literature relevant to Urology.
Outside his normal work load, Mr. Siau is involved with healthcare screening activities in the various surrounding communities. Of note he had past provision of care to HIV/AIDS patients in the community and the Samaritan Clinic patients who usually have no healthcare insurance coverage.
For relaxation, Mr. Siau spends quality time with his wife and family and very active with local Brazilian Jiu-jitsu team in which he has obtained his Black Belt.
