Governor H. Henderson III, DNP
Dr. Governor H. Henderson III, DNP earned an undergraduate degree from Fort Valley State University, where he majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2012. He subsequently earned his BSN from Valdosta State University in 2014, and a Masters of Nursing from South University in Savannah, Georgia in 2018. Most recently, in the fall of 2021, he earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Regis College located in Weston, Massachusetts. His prostate cancer based Scholarly Proposal Project was recently accepted by the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing.
Certified by the AANP, Governor began his career as a nurse practitioner in early 2019 with Phoebe Urology. During his employment, he provided healthcare services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. He has also served as a first assist in the operating room. As an outpatient provider, the focus was centered on providing high quality, research based urological care and treatment for both Men and Women’s Health. He also has experience in providing care for the pediatric population. He served on the APP leadership committee for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital from 2020-2021.
Dr. Henderson is a former DII college tennis athlete. Prior to his career in medicine, he served as an assistant coach at Valdosta State University which was ranked top 5 in the nation DII. He still plays tennis recreationally. During free time, he loves spending quality time with family and friends.
